Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Unit Manager to lead and grow our Hyderabad business operations. The role carries full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility and requires a strong leader capable of driving revenue growth, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and people development.

The Business Unit Manager will be responsible for aligning business strategies with organizational objectives while ensuring sustainable growth, profitability, regulatory compliance, and high service standards across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Leadership & P&L Management

  • Own and manage the complete P&L of the Business Unit.
  • Develop and execute business strategies aligned with company objectives and growth plans.
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability through customer acquisition, retention, and account expansion initiatives.
  • Monitor key financial metrics, budgets, forecasts, and cost management measures.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and growth avenues.

Sales & Commercial Excellence

  • Lead regional sales activities to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
  • Drive commercial negotiations and contract management activities.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to strengthen market position and customer penetration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer value propositions.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure efficient and effective management of business operations, service delivery, and resource utilization.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost optimization.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational processes, standards, and best practices.

Customer Experience & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with customers, employees, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and Net Promoter Score (NPS) performance.
  • Address customer escalations and drive effective resolution mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Customer Experience, and other support functions to achieve business objectives.

People Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams across functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Ensure effective implementation of people processes across the employee lifecycle.

Governance, Compliance & Sustainability

  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, health & safety, environmental, and sustainability requirements.
  • Promote a strong culture of workplace safety and operational discipline.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and ethical business practices.
  • Support sustainability initiatives aligned with organizational goals.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Champion business excellence and transformation initiatives.
  • Drive innovation, digitalization, and process enhancement programs.
  • Support long-term business planning and future readiness strategies.
  • Act as a role model in promoting company values, culture, and vision.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Postgraduate Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, or equivalent.

Experience

  • 10–12 years of progressive experience in business management, sales leadership, or operations management.
  • Proven experience managing a P&L or business unit.
  • Strong B2B sales and customer relationship management experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational performance.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, industrial services, facility services, textile services, or related industries is preferred.
  • Experience in commercial negotiations and strategic account management.
  • Project management experience will be an added advantage.
